The Tyrnos II (2 speed) are some of Shimano’s fastest lever drag multipliers, featuring extra-large gears and an extended handle length for increased torque generation. For additional versatility, larger sizes are also available in a 2-Speed (II) option, offering prestigious cranking power.

Unmatched Deep-Sea Performance

The larger 2-Speed Tyrnos (II) models are the perfect reels for deep ocean fishing targeting extra-large species. In their fastest setting, they can retrieve up to 115 cm of line per handle turn, but with a simple press of a button, they transform into powerful cranking machines capable of handling the toughest conger eels or largest sharks. For lighter use such as jigging, bottom fishing, or specimen freshwater trolling, the smaller single-speed versions are ideal. They are equally fast, capable of holding large amounts of line (mono or braid), and built for a lifetime of smooth, trouble-free performance.

Engineered for Strength and Durability

The Tyrnos series is tough enough to withstand anything saltwater fishing can deliver. Built on a strong aluminum frame, it features 4 A-RB (anti-rust) bearings, extra-large stainless steel gears, an aluminum power handle with an oversized rubber grip, and an impressive drag capacity. The 2-Speed models feature continuously meshing gears for seamless transitions, while all models include an ultra-loud clicker and a ratchet lever drag that clicks firmly into place when adjusted. An additional adjustment knob allows fine-tuning of the pre-set resistance for either strike or full drag, ensuring everything is perfectly set when the fight begins.
