The record braking casting perfromance of the TX Ultra is generated by the use of three exclusive SHIMANO carbon technologies: Spiral X Core for torsional rigidity, Hi-Power X for blank twist reduction and a futuristic Carbon Monocoque handle for faster power transfer and improved feel when fish-playing. These technologies also reduce the overall weight of the rod, making it the lightest carp rod in the TX range, which results in increase tip speed when used with maximum casting force and more 'feel' when playing fish, especially at close range. Casts in excess of 220 yards have been achieved using the 13' INT model with a 4.5oz (128g) lead and not only is the TX Ultra longer casting, it is also unnervingly accurate and remarkably forgiving when playing fish, especially in the 3.0lb and 3.25lb test curves. All models are fitted with premium Kigan 3D guides (50mm butt/16mm anti-frap tip) and an exclusive custom designed CI4+ reel seat, which completely locks the reel to the Carbon Monocoque handle for maximum stability under extreme pressure.
Mike Dagnall - Most of my fishing is undertaken at ultra-long range, a technique I thoroughly enjoy but one that requires the tackle to be pushed to its limits. The TX Ultra 13ft Intensity is the perfect choice for me as it is a light, but very powerful rod which casts very accurately at ultra-long distances, all whilst remaining a pleasure to play fish on. In testing, it outperformed all other rods in its class with casts to over 230 yards. It gives me the distance, accuracy and fish playing ability to put more fish on the bank.
