The Speedmaster Tapered Surf Line is a tapered monofilament line specifically designed for surfcasting. It is available in three different tapering variants, with the thickest section of each variant featuring a diameter of 0.57 mm (16.70 kg breaking strength). This makes it suitable for powerful casts and the use of heavy sinkers.

Compared to standard uniformly thick monofilament lines, the tapered structure of the Speedmaster Tapered Surf Line offers clear advantages in casting distance. The thicker, shock-absorbing end handles the stress during casting, while the thinner main section reduces friction in the rod guides, allowing for longer casts. An additional benefit is the elimination of a connecting knot to a separate shock leader, which reduces the risk of snagging in weedy areas.
